Grant's Hotel - Location
We are located in the historic town of Roscrea. Grant's Hotel is situated in the heart of the town of Roscrea opposite the Castle. Roscrea is located at the midpoint on the main route between Dublin and Kerry. Also on the Rosslare to Galway route.
The placename 'Roscrea' comes from the Irish with Ros Cré meaning "wood of Cré", Cré being a female name of olden times. Historically Roscrea has been an important trading town. Roscrea grew around its ancient monastery and still retains vestiges of its ancient past, including a monastic round tower, Roscrea Castle, Monaincha Abbey, and Damer House.
